Jordan and Israel

If you are traveling to Jordan, why don’t combine your trip with a visit to our neighbouring country Israel? Please be aware the following 8-day tour is just a suggestion and can be customized.

Day 1: Arrival Amman
Upon arrival at Queen Alia Airport our representative will meet and assist you through the customs and immigration procedures. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2: Amman – Umm Qais – Jerash – Ajloun – Amman overnight
In the early morning we drive to Gadara (Umm Qais) to see Graeco-Roman remains and overlook the north Jordan Valley and the Golan Heights. We drive further to Jerash, the best example of a Roman provincial city in the whole Middle East. Still to view the spectacular Forum, the Nymphaeum, temples, churches and theatres. Next stop is Ajlun the great 12th century Islamic castle built around 1184/85. Return to Amman for overnight.

Day 3: Amman – Bethany – Nebo – Madaba – Petra Overnight
Our first destination is Bethany, where Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River. Afterwards drive to Mt. Nebo, the place where Moses gazed at the Promised Land before he died. Visit the church which has been excavated by Franciscans priests and overlook the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, Jericho and Jerusalem. Nearby Madaba is located, where we view the famous mosaic map of Palestine in St. George's orthodox church. Along the King's Highway we drive to Petra for overnight.

Day 4: Petra
Today we visit the red rose rock city Petra, the city of the Nabateans. Ride on a horse to the Siq, a natural crack in the rocks, walk through the 1.2 km long canyon and enjoy the beautiful carvings of statues, idols and niches on the way to the Treasury. Then continue along the Streets of Facades to the Roman Theatre, the Royal Tombs, Qasr al-Bint and the Archaeological Museum. Back to hotel for overnight.

Day 5: Petra – Arava Border to Israel – Bethlehem – Jerusalem
From Petra we drive to the Arava Border to enter Israel, where we meet our guide. Then we drive to Bethlehem to visit the Church of Nativity. Transfer to hotel in Jerusalem.

Day 6: Jerusalem - Nazareth – Peter’s House – Mt. Of Beatitudes
Begin the day with a walking tour of Nazareth including the Church of Annunciation, the old city and the market. On the way from Nazareth we will pass through Kanaa and continue to Capernaum for a visit to Peter's House, than we will visit the Church on the Mt. of Beatitudes, where the Sermon on the Mount took place and in Tabhga the Church of the Primacy and the Church of the Multiplication. Along the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan Valley back to Jerusalem.

Day 7: Jerusalem / Mt. of Olives – Wailing Wall – Dome of the Rock – Church of Holy Sepulchre
We start with a panoramic view from the Mount of Olives, then we visit the holy sites of the three monotheistic religions: the Wailing Wall, the Dome of the Rock and the Church of the Holy Sepulcure. Overnight in hotel.

Day 8: Jerusalem – Masada – Dead Sea – Jerusalem
Today we drive to the bottom of the cliff of Masada overlooking the Dead Sea. King Herod the Great built a magnificent fortress in the middle of the desert. We climb the mountain with cable-car, visit its archaeological remains. Then we head for one of the beaches of the Dead Sea, where we have the opportunity to float in its unique waters. Back in Jerusalem transfer to airport for departure.
